I offer a very large array of tapers and rod
actions to choose from. For simplicity I have divided these into
two different groups.
Classic Tapers are those that have
been designed by rodmakers and companies who either no longer exist or
whose tapers have become public domain for one reason or another.
Classic tapers are usually pretty specific when it comes to attributes
such as length, line weight and number of sections but in some cases
minor adjustments can be made including hollow building. For
example, the Dickerson 8013 can be made into a 3 piece rod fairly
easily. If you are interested in a specific classic taper but
don't see it listed, please ask as I very likely am able to make it.
I have broken the classic tapers down into line weights then further by
'speed', or a rough indication of their action. For specifics and
differences, please get in touch and I'll be happy to go over the
details with you.
Custom Tapers are those that I have
made myself. Oftentimes a custom taper will be similar in feel
and/or action to a classic taper but in all cases I have either modified
a classic taper or designed the taper and/or series up from scratch
using various techniques. I offer many, many different
configurations in the various custom tapers so I don't bother listing
them all. If you are interested in a custom taper, just check with
me in regards to the details and I'm sure I have a model that will fit
your needs.
