This rod is a brand new, medium
flamed solid built hexagonal 2/2 4wt based on
the diminutive Payne 96 taper.
It is a fairly quick action rod that
has smooth, fine tips for close work
with some extra kick in the butt section
for a broader casting range than
many light, short
rods. It would make a great
do-it-all for anything from
plunge-pool type fishing to working
tight, brushy streams. Most of
all its an awful lot of fun to cast!
Reel seat is a Shamburg downlocking
sliding band made from Duronze with
a custom turned redwood burl insert.
A beautiful combo that suits the
color scheme and small size of this
lovely rod.
